In this segment we remember Billy Paul Speed, killed in the line of duty that fateful day, as well as talk about Charles Whitman’s casket being draped with the American flag, what his childhood was like as remembered by neighbors and what his father was like as remembered by x-wives and family, and what did psychiatrists have to say about Charles Adolphus Whitman as a person. Also, why was Mrs. Whitman’s body moved from the funeral home? All of this is included in this segment.
Next, we will pay homage to journalist Neal Spelce, then go over the ‘deer poaching incident’ as remembered by a friend of Charlie’s – Frances J. Schuck Jr., who was there that night, spoke with me by phone, and also wrote a book titled, “The Charlie I Knew”.
